Are You Using Display URLs?
As you know 7search.com offers display URLs and you should take advantage of this feature. Using a display URL for your 7search campaign can prove to be important, especially if you’re advertising a known entity.
The 2 more popular forms of display URLs are:
1) Simple domain.
Joe’s Chicken Center
Come eat at Joe’s Chicken Center. We are now offering online coupons for parties of 4 or more!
www.joeschickencenter.com
This style is basic and appears clean. It also informs the web surfer of your direct home page where they will be able to find everything your site offers.
2) With a keyword string added to the domain.
Joe’s Chicken Center
Come eat at Joe’s Chicken Center. We are now offering online coupons for parties of 4 or more!
www.joeschickencenter.com/online_coupon
If using this style, you should always direct the web surfer to the actual page of the keyword(s) use in the string. In this case, the landing page should direct them to the actual online coupon.
Common practice is to test these to two styles for a day or two to determine which works best for your ROI. Then once you have that figured out, stick with it! In a perfect world you would create two different campaigns for each; one campaign for your home page and a second for the “online coupon”. 7search allows you to do this as long as you’re using different keywords for each campaign so you are not duplicating your listings in the SERPs.
One last tip: do not claim to be someone you’re not. If you are a competitor to “Joe’s Chicken Center”, don’t use their domain in your landing page. Surfers will end up clicking your ad and costing you valuable money when they realize you’re not Joe’s.
