Content Doesn't Generate Itself... Right?

In 2009, it's clear that computer-generated content is not worth it. People revile spam in all its forms. If people find a website or blog which is full of repetitive, nonsensical writing, they will consider it a "splog" (spam blog). Few people will probably visit such a site again. In short, you can't just use software to create content if you want to succeed.

So is there a way to make content creation easier? Here are three ideas...

1. Make intentionally low-budget videos. Don't charge money for them. Let them be available as streaming videos. Make it clear that they're not meant to be dazzling. Ask yourself if your video is entertaining enough that someone would watch it in his/her spare time. Finally, read several different articles on viral videos, and get a variety of opinions on what works and what doesn't work. If you choose to do all these things, then you might be able to create a successful viral video. It isn't always easy to film and edit video, but this process can get more attention than written content.

2. Get several people together (in a room, or through services such as Skype) and record a discussion. Decide whether it will be serious or entertaining. Either way, talking and recording as a group can be a much easier way to generate content than writing and designing. Call it a podcast, assuming that your audience knows what that term means. If you want people to listen to your discussion online, then make it accessible. On the other hand, if you want people to listen to it during off-hours, then release it in MP3 and M4A formats. The former is more universal, but the latter can have chapter breaks when used on some digital media players, as well as when it is burned to a CD.

3. Refine your forum or bulletin board. Make sure it's easy for people to join... and at the same time, restrict spam and irrelevant/offensive content. If you're struggling to keep your forum active, then start new discussion topics on a regular basis. Invite people to respond. Be sure to divide your forum into sections which make sense. Through all this, you will be encouraging a variety of people to help you get more written content. As your forum grows, it will eventually be recognized by search engines.

And one last idea; a good way to gauge if visitors are interested in your content is to send some PPC traffic to your website or blog. PPC traffic can be a very affordable and easy to turn on and off. Shoot some traffic, check your analytics, and learn what works before you put in a lot of effort.

We hope you found these ideas useful and if you are interested in sending affordable PPC traffic to your website or blog we recommend setting up and advertiser account here at 7Search. And if you have any questions about that please just ask. We are known for our good customer service.
